I am the dorkiest person ever

I really am the dorkiest person ever. I'm here in Yosemite, the weather is cool but still lovely, and I'm sitting inside working on my computer. The other people I came with (EJ, Mindy, Andy, Martin, and Tito) are out hiking to the Yosemite Falls. I'm not sure if they are going to the upper or lower falls. I'd love to be with them, however I've got to finish the build. It's building right now on my machine at work which I am connected to over a VPN connection. I'm just lucky that I can get internet here at Yosemite. I'm definitely going to expense the $10 is cost to get internet access for the day. Not because I really need the $10 back but more as a statement that I was working on a Saturday of a three day weekend while I was in Yosemite!

Honestly though I'm not very bitter; I'm warm inside and I've got lovely views of trees and mountains. I do wish that I had remembered to bring my iPod instead of leaving it in our cabin. And I am in a bar so I might as well be drinking while I do the build... Hold on... I now have a mudslide and am sitting by the fire. In fact I think I can even see part of El Capitan from here. Back to the build.

Baby Name Popularity

Baby Name Popularity

The popularity of the top 1000 male and female baby names since 1900. Looking at it I'm very amused to see that my name is one of the only names from among my friends and family that was not at, or heading to, it's peak of popularity when I was born. In fact it was at its century low when I was born. Thank you Mom and Dad for being original, or at least bucking the trend.

Friends and Showing Jewlery

I was in San Francicso this morning having brunch with Caitlin and Erin. It was really great to have all three of us in one place for the first time in three years. We had lots of lovely conversation and I finally saw Caitlin and Sam's apt. It's a nice place: they actually have a backyard.

The three of us had an excellent brunch at the Canvas Cafe a combination art Galley and Cafe. (I'm not 100% sure that is the correct link.) I had just given Erin a necklace and earring set that I made, (Her birthday is soon.) and the people at the counter complimented her on the jewelry and then told me that if I have a portfolio that I wanted to show they would be happy to do so. I'm pretty excited about the thought of actually showing my jewlery. We looked at the jewelry that was already there and I could make all of the stuff that was there. And the jewelry there ranged in price from $80 to $150. I am currently working up a nice selection of my stuff before I talk to them.
