Addendum

I'm proud of myself for breaking up that dog fight this morning. It took a non-trivial amount of strength and coordination to separate the two dogs. The Pit was speedy and swinging a 50lb dog one-handed is no easy task. Especially when I'm pretty sure the reason he let go of Balou was so that he could turn and try to take a chunk out of whoever (me) was grabbing his leg.

It's kind of funny how walking with Balou I really have no care for my own safety. I just don't need to. I mean, aside from looking both ways while crossing streets, there isn't anything that is going to hurt me when my 130lb uncut male Rottweiler is with me. Of course all the cares I would normally have for myself translate into worries for him plus extra. This is a prime example. I was not at all worried about the Pit attacking me. The Pit was clearly more interested in attacking Balou, but even if it hadn't been I am confident that Balou would protect me. I love my giant puppydog. I hope I didn't miss an injury on him. :(
